Supply
Chain Management (SCM) is the delivery
of raw materials to finished goods for
sale through a flow of inter-related processes.
The product is traced from the supplier,
to the store, right to the customer. To
the right is a basic supply chain cycle
that a product would go through. Some
organizations have a more complex supply
chain process where as others may have
a more simplified model. A bottleneck
in one step of the supply chain will affect
the others, and result in increased costs
and time which evidently result in lower
sales and loss of margin. Our SCM methodology
looks at the management of this flow in
order to ensure that each phase in the
cycle is free of any bottlenecks and smooth
transition of product from one phase to
the next occurs.

| A
good SCM methodology is something that most
companies should implement if they already
haven't. It allows you to carefully analyze
your network of supply, trace any points
where there is opportunity for improvement
and allows you to keep informed through
every step. Every time an error occurs in
the supply chain where a product is physically
touched when it should not be, you can expect
an increase in costs. A good SCM methodology
would help in minimizing some of these costs
such inventory, holding and transportation
costs. In addition you would have better
visibility to accurate forecasting and replenishment
information, better rate at which supply
is delivered, better customer satisfaction
all which are just some of the key aspect
that would lead to a better supply chain
and result in a higher sales margin which
equals more profit.
